History

The hotel is situated in Satu Mare, at 1st December Street numbers 1-3, prior named Queen Mary Street or Maple Street. The building of the hotel was originally a home for the canonic, around the 1850s, as it is mentioned in historical deeds. Initially, the house was lived by 4 canonic representatives and their families and in 1948 the building was nationalized factually but still remained the property of the catholic church. Then, the apartments inside the building were divided into 8 smaller places, also having a small cottage in the yard, which was demolished between 2013-2014. Then, the apartments were repossessed by the Roman Catholic Episcopate, the intention being to offer the place up for rental in a special regime, with a special destination. Thus, momentarily, the opulent building functions as a hotel.
